DoMode website and app

Privacy Policy

This policy describes how DoMode handles information when you visit our website or use DoMode for Mac to sign in, plan your day, and connect Google Calendar.

Information you provide

DoMode lets you create tasks, habits, goals, notes, and related planning and progress information. The app stores this information on your Mac in a separate local profile for your signed-in Google account.

Signing in to DoMode does not by itself back up this information to Google. If local app data is removed or your Mac is lost, you may need a separate backup to recover it.

Signing in with Google

DoMode uses Google sign-in to identify your account. With your permission, Google provides basic profile information such as your account identifier, email address, and name. DoMode stores your profile and a protected sign-in credential on your Mac. DoMode does not receive your Google password.

Signing in to DoMode and connecting Google Calendar are separate actions. Signing in alone does not grant calendar access.

DoMode Roadmap

You can browse published roadmap cards and comments without an account. If you sign in to vote, suggest an item or comment, Supabase Auth uses your Google account identifier, email and profile name to identify your account. DoMode uses a session cookie on its sign-in domain so participating DoMode sites can recognize your browser session. This sign-in requests basic account information.

DoMode stores submissions, comments, votes, and moderation records in Supabase. Submissions and comments go to DoMode operators for review. When approved, the text and the display name shown to you at submission can be read by anyone. Public vote counts are shown in aggregate. Account email addresses and voter identities are kept out of public Roadmap listings. Keep personal information out of your feedback.

You can remove your vote or sign out of the shared web session. To request removal of a contribution or account data, use the contact address below.

Google Calendar

If you choose to connect a Google account, DoMode asks for access to your calendar list and events so it can show your schedule alongside your plans. Event information can include titles, times, descriptions, locations, attendees, and meeting links. DoMode keeps a local copy of calendar information on your Mac to display it in the app.

When you choose an action that changes your calendar, DoMode may request permission to create, update, or delete events on calendars you can access. For example, if you assign a DoMode task to Google Calendar, its title, description, and scheduled time are sent to Google to create or update the event. What others can see depends on the calendar’s sharing settings and event visibility.

You can disconnect a calendar account in DoMode or revoke access in your Google Account settings. Disconnecting does not automatically delete events already stored in Google Calendar.

DoMode’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Storage and network connections

Your DoMode planning data and settings are stored locally on your Mac. Calendar data you connect remains subject to Google’s services and settings. The app communicates with Google for sign-in and calendar actions and checks network connectivity.

In the private Development build, Supabase authenticates approved accounts and stores planning data to sync it between enrolled devices. If you connect Google Calendar in that build, the Development backend handles calendar reads and writes and stores an encrypted credential to refresh calendar access.

Cloudflare Workers hosts the public DoMode website. Cloudflare handles information such as your IP address and request headers when it serves the site.

DoMode uses macOS-protected storage for Google credentials kept on your Mac. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security. Access to your Mac and your Google account also matters.

Your choices and deletion

You can sign out of DoMode, disconnect a Google Calendar account, or revoke Google access through your Google Account. Signing out does not automatically erase the local DoMode profile. Removing local app data from your Mac may permanently delete planning data you have not backed up. It does not by itself remove records already synced by the private Development build.

For questions about your information or help with a deletion request, contact faruk@domode.net.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as DoMode changes. The current version will be available on this page.
